FINALLY, the weather has cooled off and I can go to town with my nesting. It was WAY to hot in the NE last week to do anything. So far today I've pretty much cleaned and organized non-stop. I feel great! I do wish my house wasn't full of spiders; I hate those little friggers.
My to do list for baby is down to 2 things, pack a hospital bag and find a name. I have my 37 week check up today and hope everything looks great =)
My little man is doing FANTASTIC with the potty training. I started him on Saturday. He has pooped every time on the toilet (which has been maybe 6 times) and has only had 1 pee accident today, 1 accident yesterday, and 2 accidents the first day. I'm so excited =) I was going to wait until the new baby was here, worried about regression, but, he was completely ready to start. I'm so proud of him!
I'm also ALMOST caught up on my pictures. I had so many pictures this month to go through, edit and upload. I finally have June finished even thought there aren't that many pictures. Next, finishing up July. I want to be all up to date!
Addison's birthday is coming up in a few weeks. I need to finish planning her birthday party. We are doing a garden theme. At the same time the baby should be arriving. Then, school starts! So many changes this summer.
It still doesn't seem real that we will be having a new baby and that our big girl will be going to school!

hypoglycemia after gastric bypass
My mom had gastric bypass surgery a couple of years ago now. Well yesterday at my sister's graduation party she had a seizure. I walked outside and saw her standing up shaking, and I knew right away basically what was happening (this is her third "spell"). [On a side note, she looked like people do in the movies; like she was looking up to the sky in horror and I actually glanced up to see what she was looking at even though I already knew what was going on. This is a bit funny now.]
Another woman and I pried the things she was holding out of her hands and laid her down so she didn't hit her head. Liza kept her hands around her head to keep her from hurting it on the driveway and I yelled for dad. Aunt Dawn and some others came running and we called for an ambulance. She was foaming at the mouth and making horrible noises (moans, choking sounds, grunts, etc.). I made sure Addison and Michaela got out of the pool explaining that if they needed help for any reason no one would hear them, and I had Michaela keep Addison in the house watching TV and having snacks so that she wouldn't get scared. I also made sure Kellen was safe so that when the first responders arrived he wouldn't be in danger of getting hurt. By that time she was starting to come out of it and said she knew who her friend Carrie was and how many fingers she was showing. However, she still had an unusual dopey smile and look in her eyes. When the first responders showed up we described what had happened and they took it from there. [Another side note: I can not imagine showing up to a call where you know the person in trouble personally. All of the Heuvelton first responders know her. One graduated with my brother and spent quite a bit of time at our house.]
I called Josh at work to see if he could come home so I could go to the hospital, which he did. So while I waited for him to get there and pick up the kids (about an hour), I helped pick up stuff from the party (food, decorations, etc.). When Josh got there I went to the hospital. Gram and Pop, Sally & Tim, Aunt Dawn, Dad, and Carrie were all there. Basically, the doctors at the ER don't really know what happened; not a surprise.
Mom is hypoglycemic and is SUPPOSED to be on a strict diet and making sure she eats regularly. By her own confession she barely ate anything yesterday, and it was 90 degrees and muggy. She was up early getting ready for the party and then spent all day running around doing everything and not eating just drinking diet pepsi. I called her at least 3 times asking what she needed help with and she said nothing. I guess I should have just showed up. I know she has been stressed out all week with the planning for the party. Also, the family dog of 12 years died (my brother ran her over with his truck); and she was up all night comforting people. She also was up all night another night picking up people from parties and driving them home. She also had told me that she hasn't been sleeping well.
Basically, everyone needs to stop asking her to help do every little thing, myself included. She needs less stress. She needs to eat real food and drink water. We all need to make sure she is doing it. The drinkers need to find their own DD or not drink. I need to find someone else I can call to babysit, and plan for this ahead of time. She needs to let people help her prepare for parties, clean, run errands, etc. We need to insist on helping instead of just offering. My uncle Tim said, and I agree, that she has raised her family and now it is the time for her to be retired and to enjoy life more; but, she is working as hard or harder than ever.
Something that Josh mentioned that I agree with is that it's possible the not eating has something to do with her being worried about gaining the weight back. Many people told her that if she got the surgery she would be even more obese than before within 2 years. In the last year or so she did gain back about 10 pounds. Josh wonders if maybe the not eating is her way of trying to lose more weight or keep weight off. I had not thought of that and wonder how true it could be. I'm thinking this is a very good point and could be a large factor in her behavior.
Tim and I were cracking jokes at the ER trying to lift her spirits. However, I am really worried about her. I tried telling her that she won't be able to take care of anyone if she is dead. And I meant it. This is the 3rd similar "spell" in the last year. Many things need to change.
