So I thought that maybe I jinxed myself by talking about doing p90x on day one; therefore, I waited until I was a week into it to start talking about it. I'm on p90x day 10. I actually typed out everyday and what the schedule is so I can see the visual of crossing items off the list. I just did core tonight and feel great. I am once again determined to do this; especially since I have a Christmas surprise for my hubby and want to look my best! I'm glad I pushed play tonight, because it is quite late and I really didn't want to do it when I looked around the house and saw all the other things that need to get done =( Taking time for my health and my self esteem is important and I need to keep that thought in mind!!
Now my problem once again is eating AWFUL. I really don't know why I do it when I think about how stupid it is to eat something right before and during the eating. I also find that I tend to do great before lunch and then it all goes to hell. For example I will have a bowl of cereal for breakfast, yogurt for a snack and then something small for lunch. At dinnertime, however, I pig out. I will have say 2 slices of pizza and 3 cookies and a pink lemonade. I don't know why I can't put down the junk.
Josh keeps talking about getting pregnant again and I'm just not ready yet. I do want more kids I just don't feel like I do right now. There are two three main reasons for this. One, I have a houseful of kids all day so it doesn't feel like there is room for a baby. Two, I want to be skinny and healthy. And finally, three, I don't want to have done all this work getting fit only to have my body go to hell again =( Plus I'm lonely here; at least for adult conversations. Josh works 6 - 10 plus overtime so he is gone from the house from approximately 5pm - 5am. He comes home relaxes for a little and is in bed by 6am. I wake up around 6 - 6:30 and kids start arriving around 7:30. Then Josh wakes up for work at 4:30pm; gets ready comes downstairs at about 4:50pm and is out the door on the way to work by 5:10pm... I NEVER see him unless it is his day off and then it's only from around 4pm until I go to bed. That seems like a long time but really I only get grown up time from around 9pm until I go to sleep which is usually no later than 11; although on his days off I tend to stay up later even though I will be really tired and cranky the next day (trust me not a good thing when I have between 4 and 6 kids here all day).

"vacation, all I ever wanted, vacation had to get away..."

Well we are back from our Delaware vacation, and it was wonderful. I got to spend almost every day all day at the beach and Josh got to sleep in, use the computer at will, and go out to eat in 3 different restaurants (something he can never do up here having celiac's disease). The kids had a great time too; they had plenty of face time with mommy & daddy, and got to see their Granny, Gram & Pop alot too! I hope we can go back next year!
Yesterday and today it has been back to the grind of everyday life; and back to eating healthy!! I have two wedding the same day this Saturday and will only be able to make it to my friend Lauren's. This is really hard because on one hand I haven't seen any of my college friends in about a year (most recently Jolie in March, then Erika last August), and on the other hand I know that all my family, including a cousin I haven't seen in a year, will be at my cousin Ryan's wedding. I know that both weddings will be really fun too. I wish I could go to both!!! And now Josh can't go to Lauren's wedding which means I will be on my own =( This is ok... sort of! I will miss him, but, I won't feel bad that he can't eat anything while I'll be gobbling it up. No slow dancing for me =( No romantic mini vacation with just him and I.
On another note, I don't know where all our money goes!! We are always living paycheck to paycheck and I don't know why. I guess I just need to save up the daycare money and start working to pay off our little debts, like Josh's computer and his small student loans, and our credit card bill. It just never seems like we can save any money and it drives me crazy! Josh doesn't care, he does not think we need any savings or that we need to pay off any debt. And, all he talks about is more debt, like adding an addition to the house. I don't know how to make him see more plainly that all those little bills add up.
Update on the kiddos:

Kellen is talking all the time. At almost 15 months he can say: truck, car, dog, Boe Boe, Dada, Mama, hat, no, hello, poop, Jacer & Addison (these are ones where I know what he is saying but it isn't clear to others), baby, more, up, papa, Nene (what he calls Granny) and I'm sure there are some more that I cant' think of. He seems to do everything early compared to Addison, not sure if it is earlier than average though. He loves trucks and frequently yells truck and stops and listens and goes to the window when he hears one. He enjoys climbing onto the kitchen table which scares me!! He is at one of the best ages, I feel =) Loves to explore and play with people, go for walks etc. He also throws tantrums when he doesn't get his way lol.

Addison loves to play dress up and pretend. She still likes dancing, she just danced at the Seaway Festival which is a week long festival in Ogdensburg, and she danced the whole time, and then danced with the older girls. Everything these days is "I'm a mommy! I look just like a mommy!" She loved the ocean. Letting the waves smash into her was her favorite beach pastime. Yesterday, she came home from a quick trip to the local deli with Daddy saying "fucking car" and "fucking in the asshole!!" Josh swears he did not say asshole in front of her, but admits that he was following a car that didn't know what they were doing and said something like "what the fuck car!" I almost cried trying not to laugh when she said "fucking in the asshole." It is so hard not to laugh and to try and reprimand a child for something when you secretly think it's funny. However, it would not be funny in public or in front of other family members so mommy had to explain that "fuck is a bad word that only Daddys & Mommys can say." She didn't say it again yesterday, but, she probably will at the most inappropriate time, lol. Luckily, I don't get embarrass very easily!!!!! I haven't decided if I am going to send her to nursery school this fall or not. I know that she will have fun, however, there isn't really anything that she will learn that I can't teach her. And, I would have to find a ride and of course pay for the classes.

82 days to go!
p90x day 8, yes day 8. I am almost back on track and yesterday instead of an off/stretch day I went right back on the saddle and did core. This means that I should be back to normal soon. 82 days to go! Week 1 is complete. I was so tired last night, but, I pulled through. I did much better on bow to boat and on banana rolls. The Dreya roll still seems impossible and this is my second round of x. Oh well, I will get there someday, and I will do 1 chin up before this round of x is over!!!!!!!
Pattie came over yesterday with her kids and we had a lot of fun. Kayla left her phone here and I finally found it after digging through all the toy boxes. Now if only I could find my Yoga X dvd....
Today is Carrie and Eliza's Birthdays. I am going to make margarita's for Carrie, I hope her present gets here today!!!!!!!
TGIF I am ready for the weekend and some relaxation =) Plus I HAVE to get these baby clothes ready for Kristine and do last minute shower stuff. I can't wait to see her!!!!!!!!

yesterday was p90x day 6!! today is stretch day baby. I should have been a few days further, but, was a lazy fool and now I'm on day 6 instead of day 8ish. Oh well =( I have been doing pretty well with food, staying under my calorie goal, except for yesterday!!
I'm trying to clean my kitchen up, we have had an ant problem for a couple months now. Everyday more ants in a different spot. I don't know if my house is just dirty or what. Nothing I do seems to work =( I want someone to come in and scrub my house top to bottom. And, I think I found black mold in 2 places at my house ARG!

And, my goal was 146 for Lauren's wedding so hopefully I can do it! I will do it!!

TGIF
yesterday was p90x day 3... 87 days left!
I did shoulders & arms & ab ripper x last night. I can tell that I'm not in as good of shape as I was in March when I had finished p90x round 1; especially noticeable during ab ripper x. I am going to get stronger though no worries! These 10 pounds will be gone in about 5 weeks. I'm aiming for day 30 of p90X to be my 10 pound loss weigh in day!!
I'm so glad it's my Friday and Josh's Friday. The kids have all been whiny (well not Austyn, she is too little for that). We actually get the weekend off together; and because he is on days for 2 weeks, he will actually be awake when the kids and I are =) It's always good to spend time together as just a family and I don't think we have any plans. Hopefully, Josh doesn't randomly through out some stupid plans for the weekend like he normally does. He comes home and decides what he wants to do and we all just are expected to be excited about it and fall in line. This usually starts with me saying how going out at bedtime is a bad idea and that I don't want to go. Followed by Josh getting all pissy because I don't want to do what he does. Followed by me giving in. Followed by it being a bad experience. Followed by me saying I told you so and then Josh being mad at me for that. Just another day in paradise I suppose.
I am getting my hair done tomorrow and can't decide what to do. I am putting in a few layers and I might do highlights. All over highlights, highlights just on top, or no highlights just work on growing it out? I'm not sure yet, but hopefully Sally will help me decide tomorrow!

p90x round 2 day 2!!
88 more days to go =)
Did CardioX last night and I was exhausted in a good way. I was a bit sore from core, especially my abs, but hey, that means it's working! I just need to eat a lot better today!!!!!!!! I was under my calorie goal; but, not by much. I want to be about 400 calories under on days that I work out. Yesterday I had curly fries and they were about 400 calories and that is what KILLED my good dieting day. (Not a fad diet, just eating well). Anyway here is to a better day! And here's to weighing 146 by Lauren's wedding July 24. I weighed 156 this morning and weighed 176 on Jan 9th. This means I have lost 20 pounds in the last 5 months with about 20 more to go!!! I WILL do it!!!!!
I went to Crystal's garage sale yesterday and bought $120 worth of stuff. She had tons of nice clothes. I plan on using them for all my baby cousin's and my little niece, and, of course, my future babies!! I wish I'd gotten to be better friends with Crystal, I really like her. It is awful to live so far away from a few women you could be great friends with. It's hard to be best friends long distance, and all my friends are at least an hour away =( Some are 12 hours away =( I need a best friend that lives closer!!!!! Or maybe I just need to drive to Massena every 2 weeks to see Pattie.

a new addition
No not a baby!! Come on people, I've got 4 running around here already!!
Anyway, we are thinking of putting an addition on our house. An architect is going to come to our house on June 21 and talk to us about the whole expensive process of drawing up some plans. This addition is to include a kitchen, dining space, bathroom, master suite and extra bedroom. So we might as well be building a small home and it will probably cost as freaking much.
I am excited to see what she has to say!
I did P90X Kenpo today!! So tiring, but worth it. Too bad I ate horribly at my parents to night and even though I burned at least 500 calories doing P90X, I was still over my recommended caloric intake for the day... Yay me *sarcasm* Tomorrow I swear to eat better.

off the wagon
Well I have started to fall off the eating well wagon. I need to get back on top of things. It seems like I have a couple good days and then I won't be able to stand it anymore and I'll go crazy in one day and then feel regretful. I tried the idea of having something to look forward to, i.e. if you eat well for 3 days in a row you can have chicken bbq. The only problem is that I know I won't deny myself the reward or that I will eat well but then I will eat the reward and then go crazy with the mentality of "well I already ate something bad, what's one more thing?" Hopefully, today I will do well and will also be able to go for a run. Josh isn't working so perhaps I can go for a run by myself =) I have about 19 pounds to go. My pants are all quite big now, which is great! I just am holding my weight in my stomach and love handle area. Hopefully, this will all come off as I lose more weight.
I have been working on organizing all our old baby clothes. Since Josh has tonight off I think I will try to finish that up too. I need to get everything in order so that Kristine can take all the tiny sizes back with her July 3rd weekend. She doesn't know what she is having, so, I figured I'd send all the girl and boy clothes up to 6 months or up to 3 months. Going through all the clothes makes me a little nostalgic; however, with the 4 I have now running around all day I'm not ready for 5! Plus I want to lose that last 19 pounds before I think about getting pregnant again.

UGH!!!
So last night was p90x day 2... just starting out. I'm going to have to skip tonight's workout, however, as it's already almost 9 and Kellen just went to bed and Addison is still awake. So if I work out for an hour that would be about 10:30 then I would still need a shower and time to relax... then I would be exhausted tomorrow morning.
I am so tired of Kellen being sick!! He just had diarrhea about 5 times in this last hour. And, I'm supposed to collect a stool sample and bring it to the hospital; but, it needs to be fresh so of course I can't use all that poo from tonight =/ I want to know what is wrong with him.
I am also tired of my house looking so dirty and of my garden not being fully planted. I need a full day to clean and with 4 kids 5 days a week that doesn't happen. Plus I need at least an hour in the garden which is hard to get unless Addison helps which isn't that much help. And, why is it that Josh doesn't have common courtesy with picking up after himself. I don't mind cleaning up after the family. He should be able to pick up his clothes and put them in the hamper, throw away his dirty tissues, put stuff away after he uses it, and actually keep the bathroom decent (like no loogies in the sink... and not having every bathroom item he own on the sink counter which is very small...). I have tried letting things go until he notices; he doesn't notice. I don't wash any of his clothes that don't make it into a hamper and I really don't think he notices that there are around 35 t-shirts piled directly in front of our bedroom door. I think if/when we put an addition on this house it will include a his and hers bath completely separate from each other!!!!!

Today Kellen had blood work done to test for the enzyme that indicates one may have Celiac disease. He has had diarrhea for 3 weeks now and we don't know whats wrong. We have yet to rule out lactose; but, he is currently on a no dairy, no fruit diet. I don't want him to have celiac's; but, if he does have something wrong I do hope it's something like celiac's or lactose intolerance because those are rather easy to control. Of course if he does have celiac's then our house will have to become completely gluten free, which is ok... I will just be a closet gluten eater LOL. Everyone will be in bed and I will be in the laundry room chocking down bread and cookies HAHA!

Dancing Queen

Yesterday was Addison's very first dance recital. She did great! She was really the only one who did the correct dance the whole way through. Not that she did it fabulous but she was actually trying the whole time. It was so adorable. Afterward, she was so excited to get praise, flowers, and a barbie doll. She had such a big smile on her face. Irresistible.
I've been watching Austyn now along with Jace and so far so good. Kellen has been a little jealous, especially once he realized that the first day wasn't a one time deal! She is so adorable and squishy =) Today I gave her lots of tummy time and she seemed quite content she must have laid there for 45 minutes just watching and listening to what was going on around her.
I want to go to Woods tonight and get some flowers for in front of our house. My mom went there and got some and hers look really nice. I also need some round up for our stubborn weeds!! My to do list for next weekend includes pressure washing the house and then possibly starting to repaint the front and side porches. I planted more of my plants outside yesterday. Got some tomatoes and peppers out there now along with pumpkins, gourds, yellow squash, zucchini, and watermelon. Hopefully, everything grows or I will be very disappointed!
It's so quite right now, Addison went with daddy to visit Gramma and to pick up some soy milk for Kellen; and, the other 3 are sleeping =) I guess I need to go out and water my plants quickly while I have time!!
Today I started P90X again. I was out of shape!!! This time I'm going to make it the full 90 days, no quitting in phase 2! I've got 20 stubborn pounds to lose still!! Maybe if I blog about it I will be more likely to finish it, it helped last time to post on facebook that I was keeping it up. However, waking up at 5am not so fun!!!!!!!!!

i need more willpower

Addison and I planted some seeds today and some of our plants; including beans, onions, carrots, radish, spinach, and peas. We were going to plant our pumpkins, squash, zucchini, watermelon and gourds but the old pasture is still too wet and I'm afraid the seeds will rot. Our tomatoes are going to stay in side for a while yet, in our indoor greenhouse. I did, however, put them outside for the day to get them used to cooler weather. Addison was so cute helping. I tried to show her how to poke seeds into the dirt, but, she had her own ideas. Let's just say one of my raised beds is going to be a random array of plants! At one point she dumped around 30 pea seeds in the same spot =) She had so much fun doing it though so no worries. As long as things grow it doesn't matter if they are orderly or not. She kept saying "I'm so excited Mama!" and, "can I plant more seeds?"
Pop, Gram, Nathan and Mom all came over today and were working on the swing set for the kiddies. I was afraid it would rain, but, besides getting cold, the weather held. Most of the tower section is now put together. This swing set has been a pain to put together. There have been a few missing boards and the slide that came doesn't fit. We are not too sure what to do about that; because, we could notch the slide but this might make it unstable, or, we could send it back. All in all the playground seems to be coming together.
Tomorrow we are going to the circus. I hope they have elephant rides and things like that for Addison to do. She would love it! This circus promises to be much better than the last where it was like a middle school talent show.
Today I weighed 156 lbs. I have lost exactly 20 pounds since I started working out/dieting. Lately, my weight has fluctuated more, due to diet or lack thereof. I really need to stick with the nutrisystem plan exactly instead of cheating on a daily basis. I did go 3 days in a row no cheating, but, cheated today =( I need more willpower!
Wednesday, May 12, 2010
so it's back to the diet grind for me... apparently I gained back 4 pounds in the last month =( that makes 24 pounds to go to reach my goal weight. I really want to get there by July so I guess I need to get on it and workout too. I'm thinking I might start the P90X grind again as well. It seems like some of my friends have decided to try it too after my success.

A day in May
Why oh why is it only 40 degrees in May? I went white water rafting yesterday, the same place I went while a freshman in college, and it was freezing... 37 degrees and with some snow flurries!!! My brother planned the whole event for about 20 people because he wanted to go for his birthday. According to the guides we had "awesome water" 5000 cc or something? I dunno but they were lvl 3, 4 & 5 rapids. We had a great time even though it was really cold, it was a fun way to celebrate Nate's birthday and Mother's Day.
I became an aunt, again, on April 5 thanks to my sister-in-law Jordan. She had a little baby girl, Austyn, and she is adorable and squishy and giving me the baby urges of course! Kerm is going back to work on the 17th of May and asked if I wanted to babysit for her full time. How could I say no? I get to cuddle the little squishy one all day and make a little money doing it =)
I'm really on the fence about grad school. I can't seem to make myself commit to 2.5 years of school costing over $50,000 in student loans, when I'm not even sure if I will like the job. On top of that NYS has a ton of teachers on the market looking for jobs. There have been unheard of applicants for positions up here in the north country, where more than 200 people have applied for one possition; and these people are from all over the state. This means that it could also be extremely difficult to even get a job when I'm finished. On top of that I was settling for teacher because it was one of 4 masters programs at Potsdam State, which I applied to because it was the only school that was affordable. I'm not really sure what to do, I don't think I want to go, but I feel guilty not going now that I've been accepted...

MARCH - I know it's a little late =)
well it's been 63 days since I started p90x and I've lost 12 pounds... yes that's right in the last 30 days ish i've only lost 2 pounds... i have no idea whats going on I was doing so well. Its starting to depress me a little bit. I guess I need to jump start my diet? any ideas are welcome at this point! I work out for an hour every night, taking 1 day off a week. and i just starting doing the breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner ONLY routine again to avoid snacking all day and eating more calories then i think i am. Thankfully I am wearing pants 2 sizes smaller, which is back to my college jeans (just a couple pairs are still too tight). It's the top half that doesn't seem to be shrinking...
we had fun in Tucson it was nice and sunny and we got to see family & friends =) wish we could have stayed longer. maybe next year when Kellen is older, he got really exhausted and thrown off by this new routine. luckily he only freaked out on 1 out of 6 planes, where he screamed for 20 full minutes... then slept a little, then screamed for 10 minutes... then slept a little etc. tried everything, i think he was tired and his ears were bothering him.
i applied to grad school at Potsdam state, yay me! for a MST in Social Studies Education, adolescence. What a fiasco that was! I mailed my application and 2 of 3 recommendation letters. Dr. Lappas sent his directly to their office and also got my transcripts sent right there. well they never got my transcripts had to get them resent and they thought they didn't get Dr. Lappas' recommendation letter so i was all stressed out for a while, but, they did get his letter, thankfully because i would have felt horrible asking him to write and send another! Now i just wait and see!
josh has been at boat school on st. simons island Georgia since February 25 and he will be done march 25. i am flying down there for a couple days and then driving back up with him so he has another driving and so i get a mini vacation. i feel bad because i know Addison will have a hard time with me leaving because since josh has left she has attached herself to me, the longer he is gone the worse it gets. she hugs and kisses me all days saying i love you mommy and she just wants to watch tv and cuddle... i feel horrible... what do you do when your 2 year old is depressed? she doesn't understand what's going on, wants her daddy, and i can't say only 10 more days because she doesn't know how long that really is

P90X Lean Day 4
Ok so I've decided to do it. I'm going to get ride of these lazy baby pounds and extra tummy skin. I'm 5'3" and I weigh 176 as of the other day. So my target weight is 135... that's 41 pounds. I think the hardest part for me is going to be diet. I snack a lot when I'm bored and I have a craving for my daughter's potty training reward chocolate. I quit drinking soda 5 months ago and haven't looked back so sweets are out starting today. I'm going to try and do the diet that goes along with P90X the problem being I am a semi-vegetarian. I need to get groceries before I start the diet but so far today I've had a bowel of oatmeal and 6 triscuits. Lunch is coming up and I'm going to have a salad. My husband is going to find a protein shake mix for me and that is where I will be supplementing some of the meat.
Today is actually Day 4 of my workout, but, it hasn't happened yet. Tonight is Yoga and while I know it's going to be incredibly difficult, I am looking forward to it!
