TInkerbell Toothpaste

Two nights ago Josh and I were downstairs at around 9pm and we heard some suspicious thumping. Josh went to investigate. Suddenly I hear, "What is all over you??? Followed closely by, "Mommy is not going to be happy." So I decide to go investigate too. Addison had covered herself, and our bed in pink tinkerbell toothpaste... I thought by almost 4 years old she would be past this mess making business! It was funny except for having to do lots of wash the next day lol =)

Goldilocks

Well I've started calling Addison Goldilocks because she keeps sneaking into my bed. She has been playing the 3 bears a lot and one day I just realized she IS Goldilocks. When she woke in the morning I said, "Addison last night, someone had been sleeping in my bed and she was still there!!!!!!" She of course thinks it's hilarious!

Helicopter / B-Day Party / Easter

Let me begin this cute story by saying the first part is all hearsay as I wasn't there at the time. The incidents that followed as a direct result I witnessed personally :)

Do you know those remote controlled helicopters? They are about 6 inches long and actually fly. Well my brothers got one each for Christmas once upon a time. Fast forward until Kellen finds one at Baddie's house. He wants Yucky to make it fly and of course Yucky, being the big squishy man he is, agrees to show Kellen. Kellen was sitting in his high chair and Yucky was flying the helicopter thinking it was really fun when suddenly the helicopter rose up to eye level and hovered in his face (it rose up from the floor at his feet and he didn't see it coming). Well he started making his scared face like "get this thing away from me!!" After this the helicopter hit the ground and Yucky couldn't get it to take off so he picked it up and tossed it in the air. Well when the remote caught onto it and started to fly it, the helicopter hit Kellen in the forehead. While it didn't hurt, Kellen was traumatized lol.

In the weeks that followed whenever he saw the helicopter he was scared and kept saying "hit me, hit me!" Well fast forward many weeks later without anyone mentioning the helicopter. Mommy wants a shower and so she has Kellen and Addison playing in Kellen's room. As I'm getting dressed, I'm smiling at the two of them sitting in Kellen's bed reading. Addison is pointing to all the pictures and saying "what's this Kellen" and he answers. Well she gets to the helicopter and gets all excited and says, "Look Kellen and HELICOPTER!!!" Kellen immediately sticks out his bottom lip and proceeds to inform Addison, in his best pouting voice, "hit me :( Yucky hit me :( Yucky hit me :("

I love how this happened with no prompting and no mention of the helicopter in quite a while. It always amazes me what kids remember.

Addison and Kellen both got dishes and silverware from Gramma for Easter. Addison just informed me that, "Gramma got me this knife and you can't take it!" LOL :)

Last night was Kellen's birthday party at Baddie's house. It went pretty well. He loves the lawn mower he got, and they have been playing with the road carpet all morning too. He loved his truck cake and him and addison kept going back for more licks of frosting. Jordan, Jarred & Austyn were the last to leave. I had fun just talking with them. It's rare for me to have fun adult conversations lately =) Well the kids went to bed at 10 and then Josh wanted to wake them up before he went to work at 6. So, he turned the light on to wake up Addison and I which made me want to stab him in the face (I HATE WHEN PEOPLE TURN ON THE LIGHT WHILE I'M SLEEPING IT BURNS MY EYES OUT!!!!) SO anyway, we had and Easter egg hunt and the opening of the Easter baskets at 5:45 this morning. My children had 4 LESS hours of sleep then normal and are very very tired. We are going to Gram & Pop's in about an hour for Easter breakfast and I'm praying that they both fall asleep on the way home.

I also slept horrible last night. I kept having nightmares and I feel like I didn't even sleep an hour. They were the kind of dreams where you aren't sure if you are dreaming or awake, like day dreams almost. I kept thinking that a tsunami was coming and we were all going to die. For some reason I frequently dream and worry about tsunamis and I don't know why. I doubt one could even get this far inland. I also always worry about how I will save 2 or 3 kids and a dog if there is a house fire (how will we get out with me having to carry all of them??? Stick the baby in a duffel bag, the dog in a duffel, hold Kellen and have Addison follow???). Another one is that we are in a car accident or drive off a bridge and I have to save 2/3 kids from drowning... what do I do??? Stuff one down my shirt and grab one in each hand?? Would I be able to carry all that weight to the surface?? How would you pick if you could only save one???????????????? how????? UGH here I go freaking out again. My other dream was that my mom and I and some other people were driving to Key West from Miami (which we just did a few months ago). For some reason we had to walk on these little footpaths. Well we get to this one section where the water is filled with dead fish heads and blood like chum I guess and we have to get to the bridge by taking inter tubes. Well we are like how do we do it with all the sharks in the water? So we just started to kick our feet with our tubes and swim for it. Well mom got separated from everyone and suddenly a huge shark, like a great white like jaws, came up and tried to bite her, and while we are all watching and screaming it comes up and chomps her down. And that's where I woke up... I must have laid awake in bed for 2 or 3 of the 5 hours I was "sleeping." What a long night!

speaking of boys...

Kellen just started sort of crying and holding himself. I go, "what is the matter??? Do you have to pee?" Kellen, "NOOO!" "Ok what is wrong?" Kellen, "My balls!!!!!!" and now he is once again saying "My butthole!!" over and over lol. I feel bad for him, but, it's so funny lol!

Oh Boys!

So today Kellen was just playing and he said his diaper was "old" which means he peed and wants a fresh one (so much for potty training still). SO I take his diaper off and figure I have time to finish up my cloth diaper order when he says "Mama, pants wet!!!" So I'm like greeeeeat he peed his pants wonderful. So as I get up to clean him up and get some fresh things he gives me this weird look and shakes his leg... onto the floor falls a big turd. LMAO! I just burst out laughing. At least it was easy to clean up lol.

I ordered 6 cloth diapers today. I have 8 now which means I have a few less then half for this new baby. The ones I had for Kellen won't fit because they are for toddlers even though they are one size... No big deal his will fit when this one is older. I figure I need 10-20 more diapers because I am getting a lot of AIOs this time. If I did all covers that would be cheaper, but, I like the convenience of AIOs so I thought I'd give them a try. I did order some prefolds today too. I still need to get detergent and new pail liners, also some other basics like nursing bras (mine are getting quite threadbare), nursing cover (Kristine has mine), some nipple cream and some baby bum cream, maybe some cloth nursing pads but I've heard they are bulky =(

Kellen finally took a brief nap yesterday when he curled up on my lap and fell asleep. I let him sleep about an hour and then woke him up. He went to sleep fine last night. Josh just rubbed his back and laid next to him. When I went and checked on him around 12am he was sleeping on a blanket on the floor <3 Luckily his mattress isn't very thick so he only "fell" about 4 inches; he probably never even felt it. He did wake up again for a few minutes around 5:30 but then went back to sleep until about 7:30. Addison woke up at 6:30!!!!!! UGH maybe someday I will get to sleep in! Thankfully, she was content to watch TV while I napped on the couch for an hour.

So my hair has been red for about a month and I still have mixed feelings. I think it looks really good when I have makeup on, and when my hair is done. When I just let my hair dry and have no makeup on I think it looks bad. I'm not sure if I want it blonde again or not. I like that the red looks natural and goes with my freckles, and I like that few people have red (especially natural looking red). Completely bragging here, I feel like I really pull off the red. However, I'm so used to being blonde, and I like it and I know Josh prefers the blonde. I'm just torn I guess! So I suppose I will keep it red for a while longer and see how I feel.

I can't wait to go to the beach this summer!! 83 more days! I really hope I don't go into labor while on vacation! I don't' think I will, since I've never been early before, but, mother nature knows best. I've been thinking about going as natural as possible for this labor and delivery. Actually, I've been thinking of how to tell my Dr. outright that I have ZERO intentions of being induced. I also do not want a c-section. I've had a vbac before so I should be a "good" vbac candidate. I'm just worried that once I start getting pressured to be induced or have a section I will cave. I have no idea how Josh feels about any of this because I haven't talked to him. I'm assuming he will just want to do whatever the doctor says. He seemed to be raised with the whole Dr. knows best theory and usually brings up "did you call a dr." when anyone has pain or gets hurt (I'm talking back aches and bumped heads along with other more serious issues like fevers). I however, feel that while Dr.'s are necessary, that people are way to quick to run to them for every little thing. I've also been doing some research on natural childbirth and it just seems so much more practical (like not laying in a bed for hours hooked up to medicine etc.). I've also thought about getting a midwife, but, I can't seem to locate more than one option in our area. And, since I'm more than halfway through this pregnancy I feel a little uncomfortable completely switching over.

Kellen's Big Boy "Bed"

So I Caught Kellen with his leg over the side of his crib and decided it was time to get him out of it. Josh dismantled the crib and I am going to wash it before we reassemble it and get it ready for the new baby. We simply put the crib mattress on the floor for him and took everything out of his room we didn't want him to play with (large rocking chair, small fan).

Last night, in preparation for the new bed, we let him stay up an hour later hoping he would be extra tired. I filled his little belly up with snacks and had Josh bring him up there. After about 30 minutes Josh went to bed and so I went and laid on the floor in Kellen's room with a pillow and blanket. I laid beside him and pet him (rubbed his back lol) until the dog started barking like crazy. At that point I told him I was going to go check on the dog and that I'd be back up in a couple minutes. Well I never went back up because he never made a noise. When I checked on him he was out cold. He did wake up at 5:30 and cry "Moooommmmy" for about 1 minute and then went back to sleep until 7:30. I would call it a success!

Nap-time today, however, would be categorized as a failure. He was upstairs for an hour total. During that time I was up numerous times trying to coax him to sleep by petting him and scratching his back. He keep saying "my butthole, mommy my butthole" but when I would ask if it hurt of if he needed to poop or if he had pooped he would just say no. I don't know what is going on with that!! I finally gave up after an hour. Hopefully, over the next week he will actually start napping again. I'm assuming it was just much more interesting to tear his room apart then to snuggle in bed. At least he will be tired tonight. He is currently really whiny ugh!

New topic:

I think I need to hire a babysitter to watch the kids while I clean!! It's taken me all week to spring clean the upstairs and I'm still not finished with my room and the bathroom. I say spring clean because I mean cleaning up and going through stuff to see what to keep and what to put away or throw away. I still desperately need to do the laundry room and my desk. After I'm done spring cleaning I'd like to set up the new baby's space and organize the clothes out in the garage (the most recent things they've outgrown are just tossed up there, not organized or put in totes yet).

I really need to post more :)

Addison is in the play room yelling, "I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!! I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!I WISH TO BE NORMAL!!!

And now she is singing I wish to be normal lmao...
how to tell her that will never happen?

I need to keep track of all the funny things my little piggies say because some things are just too funny to explain.

Mommy, "Kellen where are your nipples?"
Kellen, "Daddy wash my nipples... Daddy wash my nipples!!" (sounded more like "daddy... wash my neeples")

New With Us

I decided to quit daycare with the exception of my niece Austyn. I will be be done in June (because that's when school gets out). Its been stressing me out a little not being able to spend a lot of time with my kids and go for walks and stuff with them. Plus it's a pain to try and do anything on a week day, like Dr. appointments, hair appointments, whatever! Josh doesn't want to watch the other kids while I have dr. appointments or whatever, and I don't blame him. Plus I hate not being able to just go and do something if it needs to be done. I normally have kids here from 7am until 5:30pm and it just seems like nothing gets done that I want to. And, quite frankly I'm getting sick of wiping other kid's noses and butts!

I can't believe I'm already 22 weeks pregnant. I can't believe I'm going to have 3 kids lol! It seems like this time the pregnancy has flown by. It's amazing to see Addison's reaction when she feels the baby kick, and it cracks me up to hear her suggestions for baby names (light switch is a top contender). We are planning on being surprised by baby's gender and so picking names has been a pain in the ass, fun though. I think we like Trenton for a boy, but that could change in 18 weeks. I like Genevieve for a girl but Josh not at all. I really like Eve-Lynn but can't figure out how to spell it without a hyphen. If you spell it Evelyn everyone will say Ev-Ah-Lynn not Eve-Lynn. I wish our house was bigger, I'm not sure where exactly a baby is going to fit!

Addison will be going to school this fall (pre-k). I really wasn't going to send her because I don't see what she will learn that I can't teach her, but, then I thought about the shock of going to school for 7 hours a day after never going and realized that pre-k (2.5 hours a day, 5 days a week) would probably be a good adjustment. Plus she loves doing things like that with her peers. She still does dancing every week and really likes it. She is wild and going threw a stage where she doesn't want to sleep and is having major freak outs once a week, not sure if this could be because of the new baby?

I have been wanting to potty train Kellen, but, I've been procrastinating. Honestly, I'm just being lazy and------ yeah lost that train of thought when typing this a couple hours ago because there was a collision which resulted in Kellen biting his lip =( He is ok the poor little bugger. Anyway, I need to potty train this little man but I AM LAZY. This would be a good week too because I only have Austyn (it's spring break so school kids). What else is knew with Kellen... Well I'm sure every mom thinks this... He seems extra smart to me. He isn't 2 yet and speaks in sentences and speaks clearly(actually 10 minutes ago he is upstairs asleep and I hear him on the monitor while sleeping say "Mommy wash my baby" because I washed his baby today after it got blood on it from the collision). No one has trouble understanding anything he says. These 2 kids I babysit for do not speak any where near as many words or any sentences and one is older than him by a month and one is younger than him. I'm afraid he is going to be smarter than me by the time he is 12 *sighs* no helping him on his math homework I'm afraid. Anyway, he consistently speaks sentences not just one that he knows. So, I'm not sure if he is really smart of if these 2 other kids are slow haha. But, from everything I've read on his age he seems to be well ahead on talking.

We still are worried about the government shutdown at our house. It looks like if there is a shutdown then Josh will just miss a paycheck but will still work as he is an essential worker. I guess this means we are lucky. I've been trying not to buy anything because of this but I really wanted to start buying my cloth diapers for the new baby because they are about $20 a diaper and I don't want to just buy them all at once ($500 or so) I'd rather spread out the expense. Yes, it seems like a lot but at $25 a week for diapers $500 for 2.5 years sounds cheaper aye? WOAH total subject hijack, anyway I've been mostly trying not to think or worry about the shutdown since there really isn't much I can do about it.

Ive been having puppy cravings lately too!! I think it's just a pregnancy craving because really when I think about it I do not want a puppy right now. Maybe next summer. But, they are just so cute and squishy and Boe needs a friend.

Oh and I've read 55 books so far this year... which is behind where I need to be to read my goal of 225. Also, my other goal for reading is to read every single Nora Roberts book that she ever wrote which is 208. Not sure if I will accomplish these goals, but it's worth shooting for. Also, the Nora Roberts one may take 2 years because really that means I'd only read one author for the whole year, and, while her books have lots of variety, I still think I'd get sick of her style, or any author's for that matter, after reading only her!

XOXO
